Some exposition: After Xillia's conclusion, the two worlds start interacting with each other and peace treaties are in the talks. Jude, the kid genius who is 16 with a doctorate and is now a researcher Milla Maxwell, the new Lord of Spirits personified Elize, another kid genius in terms of raw magical power Alvin, chronic backstabber who is now trying to make an honest living as a merchant (now with a goatee!) Leia, combat nurse turned reporter Rowen, former soldier turned butler turned prime minister then we have Xillia's final boss duo Gaius, the new King of Rieze Maxia and his toned down psychopath companion, the spirit Muzet (who is also Milla's sister). They are the new additions to the cast, as everyone behind them are recurring characters from the first game. The heroine is a twintailed 8 year old, Elle Mel Marta.
Like any game with choices you can make him as nice or as asshole-ish you want. so our protagonist this time is a silent one, the center of them all, 20 year old Ludger Will Kresnik. It's a round of 'guess that character'! Since I haven't done an official review of Xillia, I guess I have to introduce everyone. I don't know about previous Tales games but this is the only one that I know of that has multiple endings, with only one being canon, or 'True'. Tales of Xillia 2 has the characteristic genre of Choices That Spin the Future RPG.
